Welcome to the

ROTARY CLUB OF SAN PEDRO

Flashback - A Rotarian's Responsibility to His Club

Whether Rotarians realize it or not, they assume a number of responsibilities, and one of these is to their club as is pointed out in the Ottawa, Illinois Weekly Letter.

"Real Rotarians get acquainted without waiting for introductions.  They try to know each other.  They arrive at the meeting place rather early than late, and sit beside a different member at each meeting.  Rotarians draw those who are not participating in the conversation, such as new members, and draw them in.  Cordial attention will make new members and guests feel at home.

"Each Rotarian owes it to his club to promote the fellowship and association which give Rotary its personal appeal.  A Rotarian owes it to his or her club, at all times, an interest in a tolerant attitude toward their fellow man."

Some things never change.  This was taken from a 1928 San Pedro Rotary Log and 87 years later, it still rings true.
