The Benefits of Membership

Joining the Rotary Club of San Pedro means you become part of our family.

A 2016 survey conducted of Rotarians asking why they joined their local Rotary Club showed that people mostly wanted to impact their community (35.5%), build new friendships (30%), and network (18.7%). Why they stay, however, is for the friendships (38.4%) and the impact (36.1%).

We are an active club, directly contributing to the San Pedro and South Bay community, facilitating partnerships, and fundraising on behalf of causes we believe in.

If you are interested in learning more about Rotary or becoming a member, Helene Pizzini, the Membership Chair, would love to talk to you (pizzini3@coz.net or 310-519-0296).

Members in Action

Kids entranced at our first annual Community Reading Day loved the book The Pirate That Was Afraid of Everything and the performance its authors, Annabeth Bondor-Stone and Connor White, put on. We distributed over 500 books to nearly 75 kids without access to books in their homes.

LA City Councilman Joe Buscaino distributes Student of the Month awards to some of our city's most fabulous students! Along with the recognition, we award each student a small scholarship to support their college ambitions.

As Rotarians, we live by the motto: Work Hard, Play Hard! Here we have long time Rotarians with our own LA Dodgers mascot!

Rotarians support individuals, organizations, and causes more generally. Here, over 1000 Rotarians from across the SoCal region attend the 2015 Special Olympics Opening Ceremonies at the LA Coliseum to support 6500 athletes from 165 countries in their 25 respective Olympic-type sports.
