September - Working Day and Night

Labor Day is a national holiday, set aside to recognize the worker, on the first Monday in September.

It is also a day off work for quite a few people. People barbecue and do other things to celebrate.

We're encouraging attendees to bring in a tool of their trade and put it on a display table. Everyone will look at all the items, put together, and write down their idea of what the common theme is between these eclectic, distinct items. We'll read all the ideas and vote on a winner!

We'll also encourage our attendees to share one significant story about work. The stories could be about their experience starting a business. The one business opportunity that got away. What they would do differently if they knew then what they know now. This is not a mini "craft talk," but rather an opportunity for people to share a little bit about themselves with each other and for us to get to know another side of them.

Last, attendees are encouraged to bring their best barbecue sauce recipe, barbecue technique, or something related to grilling (meat, vegetables, coals, wood, etc.).

See you there!
