Karen is a member of the Rotary Club of South Bay Sunrise.  She is currently the Rotary Foundation Giving Chair for our District in addition to being an Assistant Governor and a member of the Foundation Celebration planning committee.  Karen has held several other positions in our district.  She was co-chair, with Rotarian Rica Viola, for the Peru Humanitarian trip in 2019 and The Foundation Celebration on the USS Iowa in 2016.

Earlier this year, Karen, and her husband David Henseler, became Arch Klumph Society members, committing to a donation of $250,000 over a 3 ½ year time period, and Legacy Society members, by putting in their living trust a donation of over $1 million.  They are the first Rotarians in our District to become a member of both of these giving societies.

Karen retired from Southern California Edison where she worked for 10 years.  She held project management positions in the Economic and Business Development and Energy Efficiency departments.  Prior to SCE, Karen worked at the U.S. headquarters of Toyota Motor Sales, USA for 17 years, where she held management positions in marketing, finance, strategic planning and logistics.  Prior to Toyota, she worked at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, and Northrop Corporation.

Karen holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in mathematics and economics, both from UCLA.

Karen lives in Torrance with her husband, David Henseler.  Karen and her husband own and self-manage 3 apartment buildings in Long Beach and 2 vacation rental homes in San Felipe, Baja.
